That quote bothers me so much sometimes. I get it, it’s romantic. But their differences were so petty. They spoke the same language, believed in the same religion (presumably- both look like WASPs to me), were of the same ethnicity, cultural background, nationality… Money differences? Social status? bah. Get over it.
